History

Bruce J. Gitlin, P.C. is a professional corporation within which Bruce J. Gitlin, Esq. is the principal attorney. Bruce has been practicing law for 30 years. He attended the Industrial & Labor Relations School at Cornell University as an undergraduate and Fordham University School of Law as a graduate student. While at law school, Bruce was accepted to write for the Fordham Urban Law Journal and created a clinical program in association with a legal services office in East Harlem. Bruce is enrolled, currently, in the Master of Laws program at Fordham Law.

Over the years, Bruce has represented hundreds of clients in a range of matters that, thematically, can be described as the advancement of workers’ rights in the workplace.

Bruce’s commitment to the defense of worker’s rights, through, among other things, securing compensation, has been shaped by his education at the Industrial and Labor Relations School at Cornell University. Furthermore, Bruce’s dedication to fighting for workers and others who seek justice finds its source in the work of Martin Gitlin-Bruce’s father-who championed the rights of individuals through his private law practice that was established in 1950.

Bruce has worked for years, moreover, in behalf of individuals who have been injured outside of the workplace, whether through automobile, premises, products or medical malpractice liability. Bruce has secured millions of dollars for plaintiffs for accidents arising out of wrongs committed by others.

Additionally, Bruce has created a boutique practice revolving around the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing.  Bruce has represented passionately this community for over 30 years.  Moreover, Bruce has studied American Sign Language which has facilitated his representation of deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Bruce has served on the Board of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is founder and Past Chair of the Trial Lawyers Group of UJA-Federation New York.
           
Lastly, Bruce maintains a steadfast dedication to advancing social justice. To achieve his goal of advancing justice, Bruce handles certain matters on a pro bono basis and organizes a network of attorneys who are committed to pro bono publico.
